Brand Experience Design
As Brand Experience Designer for Camp Fimfo camping resorts, I worked with the marketing, operations, and design departments to translate the brand identity on paper into physical experiences at each park. From themed signage, to custom illustrations, to interactive installations, I oversaw the process of concept, design and implementation. Camp Fimfo is part of the Northgate Resorts portfolio of award-winning campgrounds.

The Fimphone

The Fimphone is an interactive experience in which guests engage with a curious 1950s payphone in the middle of nature. Special phone numbers are hidden throughout the park and listed in the phone booth, which guests can find, collect, and then dial into the Fimphone. Through a series of pre-recorded messages, guests are sent on scavenger hunts to find more surprises, learn of the Camp Fimfo origin story, and even hear news from other Camp Fimfos around the country. ‘Choose your own adventure’ style phone trees, dialing POP-CORN for the time, and Squirrel chatter are just a few of the playful elements to be found.
This experience was designed to evolve over the years along with our guests. This could easily have been installed and forgotten about. However, the digital format presents a unique opportunity to refresh the experience as seasons change. As the Camp Fimfo story deepens, we will create new messages for the Fimphone so that returning guests have the pleasure of seeking out new phone numbers and hearing different messages each time they visit.
